On Thursday, April 18 The Orthodox Union participated in a Check Presentation by the Bridge Educational Foundation and its donors, M&T Bank and Waste Management at the Silver Academy in Harrisburg, PA. Students attending The Silver Academy, and other Dauphin County Schools were eligible to receive EITC scholarships. School officials and families attended the event to thank the scholarship donors.
During a brief presentation the donor business representatives, school and elected officials offered remarks applauding the EITC Program. Pennsylvania State Senator Rob Teplitz attended the event in support of the Program and the families in his district.
The scholarship donations announced today are part of the K-12 EITC Programs. The K-12 EITC tuition program provides companies with a 75 percent tax credit – 90 percent for a two-year commitment – for funds donated to approved, non-profit scholarship or educational improvement organizations businesses may donate up to $400,000 per year though the K-12 program.
