OU Advocacy and the Pennsylvania affiliate of the Council on American Private Education (PA CAPE) congratulate Mrs. Besie Katz, the founder and principal of Politz Hebrew Academy, for being named Primary School Administrator of the Year at PA CAPE’s inaugural Teacher and Administrator of the Year awards ceremony, held today at the Capitol in Harrisburg.
Katz has been the principal of Politz Hebrew Academy, an elementary school with more than 350 students in its kindergarten through eighth grades, for the past 32 years.
“We are delighted to congratulate Mrs. Katz for winning PA-CAPE’s first award, recognizing her skills as a school administrator,” said Michelle Twersky, Associate Regional Director of OU Advocacy-PA. “She is an exemplary leader, who treats her students as individuals, understands that each child learns differently and tries to cater the school’s services to her children’s needs. Her commitment to quality private school education epitomizes the values and the message of CAPE.”
PA-CAPE promotes the right of private schools to fulfill their unique missions and the rights of parents to educate their children in the schools of their choice as well as fosters the participation of the private school community in shaping Pennsylvania’s education agenda by advocating positions on education policy.
