Project History:

The development of the High School Academic Resource Center is a response to the recent finding that only a handful of students with IEPs, who attend yeshivas and day schools here in New York City, receive special ed services during grades 9 through 12. This finding translates into a disturbing reality that there are many students who are struggling to meet the increased academic demands of high school and are not receiving the assistance that would enable them to be successful.

Launched in September of 2012, the High School Academic Resource Center aims to investigate the causes of this pattern of underutilization and to respond constructively. We invite concerned administrators to collaborate with us as we work to design different delivery models that will ultimately best serve our school most vulnerable students.
