$599 Million: Total Funding for Nonprofit Security Grant Program: 2005-2021
The Orthodox Union Advocacy Center helped spearhead the creation of the Department of Homeland Security’s Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) in 2005 to protect the faith community against terror attacks. The program provides individual grants of up to $150,000 apiece to synagogues, other houses of worship, Jewish/religious day schools and other nonprofits to make their facilities more secure.
