Washington, D.C. — Orthodox Union Advocacy (OUA) is partnering on a groundbreaking get-out-the-vote (GOTV) initiative targeting American citizens living abroad in Israel. In partnership with OU-Israel and Yeshiva University Israel, the effort is designed to mobilize thousands of American citizens currently living, working, and studying in Israel before the 2024 election.

With presidential polling in swing states showing a close election, the Jewish vote could be decisive. Recent polling conducted by the Orthodox Union in Pennsylvania shows the long reliably Democratic Jewish vote is now up for grabs. These findings indicate that Jewish voters are far from a monolithic bloc, and that their participation could tip the scales in closely contested states.

The GOTV effort will establish a physical voter center at the OU-Israel office in the heart of Jerusalem. This center will serve as a resource hub for Americans living and studying in Israel, offering access to voter registration, absentee ballot requests, and personalized guidance to navigate the voting process from abroad. This effort is a component of the OU-led GOTV efforts in key states including Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, and California.

“With antisemitism in America reaching record-breaking levels and Israel enmeshed in an existential war, American Jewish citizens everywhere have a stake in this year’s election,” said Nathan Diament, Executive Director of the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center. “OU Advocacy is enabling Jewish Americans to exercise their right to vote and make their voices heard wherever they live.”
