Today, Orthodox Union leaders met with the Democratic candidate for NYS Attorney General, Senator Eric Schneiderman, to discuss issues of importance to the community. Among the issues raised were the Senator’s proposal to create a religious rights unit within the civil rights division of the office, to help New Yorkers practice their faith without issues – whether accidental, ignorant or malicious.
As well, he spoke of the civil rights issues relating to education, including the needs of students in nonpublic schools such as Jewish day schools. Watch the full video of this exchange here.
