ORTHODOX UNION COMMENTS ON EVENTS IN CHEVRON

The leadership of the Orthodox Union, the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization, does not see the need to have evacuated the house in Chevron at this time and are troubled by the procedures used by the Israeli Government and IDF to pursue and implement the eviction.

That said, the OU does not believe this justifies Israelis attacking IDF soldiers, and it certainly does not justify acts of harassment or violence against Palestinians. And those acts do not justify the Prime Minister or anyone else labeling Israelis as having engaged in a “pogrom.”
