The Netherlands is considering banning Shechita.  The legislation passed in the lower house of the Dutch Legislature in June, and the Dutch Senate is considering the ban in early December.

In order to safeguard the religious liberties of both the Jewish and Muslim communities, the House International Religious Freedom (IRF) Caucus is leading a letter urging the Dutch Legislature to reconsider.  This bipartisan letter, led by IRF Caucus chairs Congressmen Trent Franks (R-AZ) and Heath Shuler (D-NC), is extremely important and time sensitive.
