The Orthodox Union’s (OU) Advocacy Center commends New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo for his quick action in repudiating the anti-Semitic activities within the Pine Bush School District and for requesting an immediate investigation by the New York State Police and the Division of Human Rights. One instance of racist or anti-Semitic activity is one too many, but to have an anti-Semitic and racist culture seemingly entrenched within the Pine Bush School District is intolerable. While we encourage the community to address this problem through outreach and education, we applaud the governor for his immediate response and hope that his investigation of the school district brings about a change most sorely needed.
