CONGRESSMAN LINCOLN DIAZ-BALART MEETS ORTHODOX COMMUNITY
Orthodox Union facilitates key Israel & Mideast issues town hall meeting in South Florida

Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart (R-FL-21) recently held a town hall meeting in Miami at the Young Israel of Kendall. The meeting was facilitated by the Orthodox Union (Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America), the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization, of which the Young Israel of Kendall is a member synagogue.

Congressman Diaz-Balart was introduced by Rabbi Hershel Becker, leader of the Young Israel and he spoke to the crowd passionately regarding the US-Israel relationship. He stated his belief that peace in the Mideast was possible only when the US-Israel relationship remained strong and when there was “no daylight” between Israel and its most powerful ally.

Rabbi Hershel Becker stated:

The Congressman shared with us his wealth of knowledge and expertise on the current status of the US-Israel relationship. We witnessed a man with a strong devotion to Israel and a heart for the Jewish people. We thank the OU for an encouraging and uplifting event.
