The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America and the Rabbinical Council of America strongly condemn today’s stabbing of six people at Jerusalem’s Gay Pride Parade as a deplorable act of violence.

We appreciate and support the responses of Israel’s Chief Rabbis Yitzhak Yosef and David Lau condemning the attack and the offensive notion that the assailant attacked anyone in the name of religion.

We wish the victims a quick and complete recovery and call for the assailant to be brought to justice.
