Today, the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish synagogue organization, applauded the State Department’s report on anti-Semitic attacks around the world, following the recent signing by President Bush of the bipartisan legislative effort called the Global Anti-Semitism Review Act.

The State Department deserves much praise for its role in exposing and combating the scourge of anti-Semitism which has reared its head yet again in recent years. We deeply appreciate the impact that the work of State Department has had in spreading the message to the nations of the world that there is no justification whatsoever for anti-Semitism and the demonization of Jews and Israel. The report will serve as an effective tool for monitoring anti-Semitic acts around the globe and as an example for other countries to follow in developing ways to fight anti-Semitism and other violations of human rights and religious freedom. We look forward to the continuation and increase of U.S. efforts to combat the serious and growing threat of anti-Semitism.”
