UNION OF ORTHODOX JEWISH CONGREGATIONS STATEMENT REGARDING NY GOVERNOR DAVID PATERSON

The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization issued the following statement regarding the swearing in of Lt. Governor David Paterson as the 55th governor of the State of New York.

“At this time, we join with all New Yorkers, of every faith and all political philosophies, to offer our prayers and our support to the new governor, David Paterson. We pray that he find good counsel as he assumes his new duties at a difficult time for our state.

“We are sure the state and its citizens will be well served by the combination of Governor Paterson’s personal humility, his experiences in the Legislature, and his inspiring personal story.

“May G-d bless and guide Governor Paterson and all our elected leaders.”
