Discusses Education Issues, Gay Marriage At Joint Orthodox Union-Young Israel of Woodmere Forum

Senator Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre), the Majority Leader of the New York State Senate, recently met with local leadership of the South Shore’s Orthodox Jewish community, including synagogue rabbis, day school leadership and representatives of social service organizations serving children, teenagers and those with special needs.

Introduced by Rabbi Hershel Billet of the Young Israel of Woodmere, Senator Skelos spoke and took questions from the community leadership on its priorities, including greater support for families of yeshiva and day school students, greater efforts to help those students with special education needs and the need to protect the institution of marriage.
