I am writing to you as a concerned constituent and member of Maryland’s Jewish community. 

I am deeply disappointed in your failure to robustly support Israel since Hamas’s brutal attack on October 7^th and in your leading an amendment that would place unprecedented conditions on American aid to Israel.  

Even as Israel continues to fight for the eradication of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza, even as Israel faces increasing attacks on its northern border from Hezbollah, and even as the US has been forced to respond to attacks by the Houthis in Yemen, how can you propose that this is the time to make standing by our closest ally in the Middle East more difficult? 

I urge you to reconsider your support of this amendment and to call for the release of the hostages held by Hamas and their associated groups in Gaza for the past 100+ days.
