Write to Sen. Van Hollen in Opposition to his amendment conditioning US aid Israel

It has been 101 days since the barbaric attack against Israel on October 7th. Israel continues to await emergency aid from the United States as the IDF continues to fight for the eradication of Hamas and the release of the Israeli hostages still held by the terrorists.

Despite Israel’s clear moral right and legal obligation to act to defend its citizens, recognized and supported by President Biden and a majority of Democrats in the U.S. Senate, Senator Chris Van Hollen has introduced an amendment that would place unprecedented conditions on emergency military aid to Israel.

OU Advocacy urges Marylanders to email or call Sen. Van Hollen’s office to express their objection to the senator leading this effort, which will undermine Israel.

Subject:RE: Opposition to Senator Van Hollen’s Amendment Conditioning US Aid to Israel

Dear Recipient's Title and Name:

I am writing to you as a concerned constituent and member of Maryland’s Jewish community.

I am deeply disappointed in your failure to robustly support Israel since Hamas’s brutal attack on October 7th and in your leading an amendment that would place unprecedented conditions on American aid to Israel.

Even as Israel continues to fight for the eradication of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza, even as Israel faces increasing attacks on its northern border from Hezbollah, and even as the US has been forced to respond to attacks by the Houthis in Yemen, how can you propose that this is the time to make standing by our closest ally in the Middle East more difficult?

I urge you to reconsider your support of this amendment and to call for the release of the hostages held by Hamas and their associated groups in Gaza for the past 100+ days.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Your Full Name
