I am writing to you today to strongly urge you to support the bipartisan National Security Supplemental, which provides $14.1 billion in military aid to Israel for its war against Hamas and an additional $400 million for the Nonprofit Security Grant Program—a life-saving security resource to my community’s shuls and schools.

We are in the fifth month of Israel's war with Hamas and the emergency funds will facilitate Israel’s mission to eradicate Hamas. This aid must be passed right away and without placing conditions upon it that have never been placed upon American military aid to its closest allies.

The bipartisan proposal also addresses the mounting security needs faced by the American Jewish community. Throughout the past five months, the American Jewish community faced and continues to face relentless antisemitic threats and violence—up over 388%.

This emergency NSGP funding is necessary in addition to the yearly allocation for the NSGP.

Since its creation in 2005, DHS’s NSGP has provided grants critical to the security of nonprofit organizations—including many synagogues, churches, and other nonprofits—considered to be at risk and vulnerable to terrorist attacks. 

Jewish Americans should not have to pay a premium to practice our faith. And the U.S. must stand resolutely behind Israel—its greatest ally—as it seeks to destroy evil. This comprehensive funding bill will fulfill both needs.
