Dear Recipient's Title and Name:
My child is a student in a school that adheres to religious dietary restrictions like hundreds of thousands of students in New York City. I recently saw that Mayor de Blasio unveiled his plan to provide free school lunch for all NYC kids. This is a great initiative , but it leaves my kids out simply due to religious observance.
The Mayor promised that every student would be able to access this program. Sadly, that is not the case. Thousands and thousands of students are being left out due to Kosher or Halal observance. Simply put, if a program is for "all kids" it should be for all kids , regardless of whether their religious principles effect their diet.
Please help make this program truly universal - let it help all students in New York City have access to a nutritious lunch.
Sincerely,
Your Full Name
