Today, the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization, extends its sincere congratulations to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for achieving his fifth win for Israel’s premiership.

The OU also applauds Israel’s democratic election process and its continued place as the only democracy in the region dating to its founding in 1948.

Said Orthodox Union President Mark (Moishe) Bane:

“The Orthodox Union expresses its hakarat hatov to Prime Minister Netanyahu as he looks to clinch his fourth consecutive victory – his fifth overall. We at the Orthodox Union have been pleased to work with him and his administration since he first became Israel’s leader in 1996. Mr. Netanyahu has been a steady, effective leader for the people of Israel and a responsible steward in protecting the country during the ongoing threats and challenges the nation has faced over the decades.”

Said Orthodox Union Executive Vice President Allen Fagin:

“We appreciate Prime Minister Netanyahu’s unwavering commitment to Israel’s security and welfare as well as to Israel’s place as the homeland of Jewish people everywhere. The United States’ relationship with Israel has never been stronger. We are confident the prime minister will continue to strengthen and cultivate this close relationship, and we look forward to continuing to work with him and his administration.”

Said Orthodox Union Executive Director for Public Policy Nathan Diament:

“Prime Minister Netanyahu’s reelection is a testament to his strong leadership. We look forward to continuing to work hand-in-hand with Mr. Netanyahu and all leaders of Medinat Yisrael to ensure the safety and welfare of the Jewish people worldwide.”
