I am writing to urge you to sign the bipartisan letter, led by Senators Peters, Portman, Nelson, and Rubio, and directed to the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kelly, Attorney General Sessions, and FBI Director Comey, urging these departments to act swiftly in response to the recent security threats against Jewish Community Centers, Jewish Day Schools, Synagogues, and other Jewish institutions.  

As the letter outlines, in the first two months of 2017 alone, nearly 100 threats against Jewish organizations at 81 locations in 33 states have been reported.  Just this week, a bullet was found in a Jewish Day School in Indiana.  As these threats continue, the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and the FBI should have a united and swift response to find the individuals or organizations involved in the threats, bring them to justice, and deter such threats in the future.  The text of the Peters letter is attached.
