as Jay Footlik, a former liaison to the Jewish community for President
Clinton and presidential nominee John Kerry looks to get the nomination
over Dan Seals and take on Republican incumbent Rep. Mark Kirk.

Jay’s relationships and support in many sectors of the national Jewish
community, including the Orthodox, are wide and deep. Whether that will
be enough to get him the votes in his hometown remains to be seen. And
beyond that, the general would be quite a battle too as Mr. Kirk has
been a very strong friend of Israel in the Congress. Stay tuned.
