Orthodox at SCOTUS

This morning, the United States Supreme Court heard arguments in the case of CLS v. Martinez, an important case with broad implications for religious freedom and religious organizations, in which the Orthodox Union filed a “friend of the court” legal brief in support of the Christian students’ organization.

We were pleased to attend the oral arguments this morning, and were gratified that our brief received a judicial “shout out” from Justice Samuel Alito, and was also referenced by Justice Stephen Breyer, as they inquired whether Orthodox Jewish students would have their freedoms infringed if the university’s policy challenged in this case was upheld.
