URGENT: Support $400 Million in Emergency Nonprofit Security Grant Program funding

This week, the House is set to vote on the Supplemental Appropriations Act, which we hope will include the Senate’s proposed $400 Million in emergency Non-Profit Security Grant Program funding. This is vital funding needed to help secure our schools, synagogues and other communal institutions during this alarming time of heightened antisemitism.

Since Oct. 7, our yeshivas and Jewish day schools have had to spend nearly DOUBLE in security costs, according to our recent study. This is the unfortunate reality across our communities, as institutions have had to pay burdensome out of pocket costs for additional guards, patrols, and other security measures to combat the current threats.

Dear Recipient's Title and Name:

I am writing to you today to strongly urge you to support the Supplemental Appropriations Act bill and reconcile the Senate’s funding proposal of $400 Million in emergency Nonprofit Security Grant Program funding. Since its creation in 2005, DHS’s NSGP has provided grants critical to the security of nonprofit organizations—including many synagogues, churches, and other nonprofits—considered to be at risk and vulnerable to terrorist attacks.

Since Oct. 7, antisemitism has risen nearly 400% in this country – and our Jewish institutions are paying heavily to ensure they remain safe and secure for our communities.

The U.S. must protect its Jewish citizens during this time of alarming antisemitism. House passage of the Supplemental Appropriations Act, and the additional $400 million in NSGP funding, is a crucial step at this historic time. As your constituent, I hope I can count on your ‘yes’ vote

Sincerely,
