Dear Recipient's Title and Name:
All students deserve to be safe at school, and our Pennsylvania lawmakers have done a commendable job to ensure the safety of schoolchildren. That is, until now.
The budget passed by the PA House of Representatives eliminated the Safe Schools Initiative and all the programs administered by the Office of Safe Schools. The office offers services to public schools, such as bullying prevention, security equipment grants, health resources and more, and offers nonpublic schools a grant for a security guard.
Without the Office of Safe Schools, our Pennsylvania public and nonpublic schools will lose critical resources. And, in the face of increased anti-Semitic vandalism and terror, when Pennsylvania should do more to protect Jewish schoolchildren, Jewish day schools will become more vulnerable.
I respectfully urge you to maintain the Safe Schools Targeted Grant Programs and the Office of Safe Schools, to ensure all of Pennsylvania’s students are safe. I urge you to go one step further and expand the programs to protect students, especially those at at-risk schools.
Sincerely,
Your Full Name
