I am writing in support of the EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) and OSTC (Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit) programs, which provide much needed scholarships for students across Pennsylvania. These programs are important to me and are a pride to the Commonwealth. Since 2001, Pennsylvania has been a leader in providing greater opportunity for families and students, and it is my hope that this this tradition will continue with a strong program to help more students.

Please consider the bi-partisan bill introduced by House Speaker Mike Turzai, which will increase the amount of tax credits available under EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) by $50 million (to $175 million) and the amount of tax credits available under OSTC (Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit) by $25 million (to $75 million).

I thank Governor Wolf and the General Assembly for their commitment to education in all forms. The EITC and OSTC benefit children of all stripes, in diverse communities, and I ask you to ensure a strong future for these programs that help so many.
