This afternoon, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee favorably reported to the full Senate (S.615), the “Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015,” sponsored by Senators Corker and Menendez.
Nathan Diament, Executive Director for Public Policy for the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America, the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization, issued the following statement:
“We applaud the Senators on the Foreign Relations Committee for unanimously approving the Corker-Menendez bill, designed to ensure the Congress will review a final deal, if it is negotiated and concluded, between the U.S. and its allies and the Iranian regime. We commend Senators Bob Corker and Bob Menendez, as well as Senator Ben Cardin for their leadership and skill in bringing this critical legislation not only to a successful vote, but to a unanimous one. We urge the Senate leadership to bring this bill to the floor for consideration by the full Senate swiftly and we urge all Senators to follow the lead of their colleagues in committee, and approve this sensible legislation.”
