Religious leaders including Archbishop Timothy Dolan, OU Senior VP Emanuel Adler and Rabbi Joseph Potasnik joined together with Senator Jeff Klein and other elected officials to press for passage of a bill making it a felony to vandalize or destroy property at a house of worship. The bill is sponsored by a wide range of senators, including several representing large Orthodox populations (Sens. Klein, Craig Johnson, Stavisky and Smith). Democratic Conference Leader John Sampson is a sponsor as well.
