That the Jews of Yemen saw a prophetic answer to their prayers in the cargo planes that came to take them back to Israel is well known. Operation Magic Carpet was a fulfillment of the bible’s promise to bring them home on “wings of eagles”. Less well known is that many of those pilots and their planes were American charters. Alaska Airlines was responsible for numerous flights and the rescue of 40,000 Jews. They lost not one life along the way, despite some best efforts by enemy regimes.
