On Wednesday, Prince Edward will become the first member of the British royal family to visit Israel in over 10 years. The trip was prompted by an invitation from the Israel Youth Award program, which was started 50 years ago by Edward’s father, Prince Phillip.

The Prince’s itinerary will include a stop on Friday to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, where a tree was planted in honor of his grandmother for sheltering three Jews in her home during the Holocaust.
