Texas Governor Rick Perry asked the Employees Retirement System (ERS) and Teachers Retirement System (TRS) to divest all investments from companies doing business with Iran. The Governor expressed concern about Iran’s position towards Israel in addition to its terrorist actions. Even more interestingly he made this request during an event today announcing the establishment of the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce. Governor Perry announced the two “Lone Star States” have a lot in common and a lot of potential for business and understanding.
