First Laptops, then Shoes. Now Tefillin?

As reported this morning in Yedihot Achronot, some passengers on an early morning train from Chicago were given a new look at a somewhat obscure Jewish ritual. Apparently, a passenger mistook the black leather box and straps of a man’s tefillin for the wires of an explosive belt, and alerted the authorities. After bomb dogs failed to identify the tefillin as anything more hazardous then perhaps a fashion faux pas, the chief of security apologized to the startled worshiper, saying “This incident has given us all an opportunity to learn about other religions and their customs” Read the full story here.
