Governor Spitzer Shores up Rights for Those With Disabilities

ADA – the landmark law protecting rights for those with disabilities is in a state of flux federally speaking. So it was good to see that Governor Spitzer signed legislation a package of protections sponsored by Senator Saland and Assemblywoman Paulin that brings NYS onto par with the ADA, and now allows the state’s Human Rights Division the ability to both take complaints from those charging discrimination as well as investigate on their own accord.
