The chairman of the New Jersey Assembly’s Budget Committee, Assemblyman Lou Greenwald, used the observance of Martin Luther King Day to announce his support for A.2810, the Opportunity Scholarship Act.
Mr. Greenwald has long been a friend to the OU, and recently, we facilitated his visit to the Politz Day School in his hometown of Cherry Hill. The OSA, which will be heard tomorrow in committee on the Senate side, is sponsored there by Senator Ray Lesniak & Minority Leader Tom Kean, two other friends of the OU and also representatives of key OU communities. The OSA is a key priority of the OU’s, modeled on existing programs enacted in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Florida and Rhode Island that are incredibly successful. So we are glad this powerful & well respected voice in the Assembly Majority has added his support.
