Count us as among those “scratching their heads” over Mike Huckabee’s most recent comments in the realm of religion’s role in American law and politics. In an interview on Beliefnet the GOP presidential contender seems to narrow/clarify his comments about amending the Constitution so it is more consistent with an un-amendable Bible as relating only to the issues of abortion and gay marriage. Nonetheless, we here who follow the currents and eddies of religion and politics in America quite closely think Mr. Huckabee is going into new and uncharted waters here.
