The OU has learned that Dan Gaby, founder and executive director of E3, NJ’s school choice alliance, passed way last night.
Dan was a friend and mentor to the OU from the day we joined E3. After a successful career as an advertising executive, and decades as a Democratic Party activist, Dan “retired” so that every waking moment could be spent pressing forward his dream – that every child, everywhere, have the best education available.
He was – and remains – an inspiration. His passion wasn’t just infectious but contagious. And he never let any setback throw him off course but continued to fight for anyone’s child as if they were his very own.
We take comfort in knowing that he is now pigeonholing the angels and the Heavenly Host to discuss merit pay, state standards and school choice for all.
Yehi Zichro Baruch.
