Jennifer Rubin (IPA Fellow alumnae) with the Israeli Embassy has informed us that the Israeli Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories has issued a statement reaffirming Israel’s commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, despite Hamas’ continued attacks on the checkpoints.

Hamas takes control of donations intended for humanitarian aid and instead transfers them to its institutions for its own purposes. They have attempted to enter Israel to ostensibly to seek medical attention, but actually intended to carry out terrorist attacks.

Despite these realities, Israel has kept its commitment to providing aid to Gaza, and Hamas has only itself to blame for any humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
