J Street Channels Brzezinzki

The leader of the newest “pro-Israel” group, the J Street Project, is Shmuel Rosner’s guest on his Ha’aretz blog.

Out of love and support for Israel, Mr. Jeremy Ben Ami wants an American president who will mount “forceful US engagement in the diplomatic process [to] help the Israeli Prime Minister overcome domestic political obstacles in order to lead the country toward a meaningful peace agreement…”

This puts the J Street operation in the same place as the former National Security Adviser to the Carter Administration – Zbigniew Brzezinski – who after accusing American supporters of Israel to be McCarthyites (a charge the J Street folks have implicitly agreed with too), lists what he believes the next President must “persuasively propose” to the Israelis (and Palestinians):
“a) Palestinians give up the right of return from Jordan b) demilitarise of the Palestinian state c) Israel share Jerusalem d) Israel return to its pre-1967 war borders with ‘equitable adjustments’.”

As the saying goes, with “friends” like these…
