Kadima MK to American Jews – “We can’t hear you!”

Our friend, Haaretz’s Washington chief, Shmuel Rosner has written plenty on whether American Jews ought have a say in Israeli policymaking. His most recent post on this had a different take than in the past. He informs us that MK Menachem Ben Sasson, of Prime Minister Olmert’s ruling Kadima party, quite actually begged attendees at the convention of Reform Judaism to jump into Israeli political debate – at least on the issue of a potential constitution.

As we have said in the past we believe American Jews may speak out – though obviously not dictate. We are after all one family, and we have, in the PM’s own words an obligation to speak up, and it’s nice this view is shared by others in Israel too.
