Kudos to Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-NY) for using her role as the new chairwoman for the House Appropriations Subcommittee for Foreign Operations to freeze the transfer of $86 million in U.S. funds by the State Dept. to the Palestinian Authority pending State’s clarification and assurances of where this money will go and what it will be used for.

Ms. Lowey was joined in this effort by Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), the ranking Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
