Gallup Reports on McCain v. Obama Among Jews

Posted on May 7, 2008 In Blog

The Gallup Poll has a report out today on the Jewish vote in a McCain vs. Obama presidential contest.
Politico’s Ben Smith notes, the numbers for Obama are in the middle of the ballpark – not as low as Mondale’s but not as robust as Al Gore’s.

But it’s worth consideration further that this polling snapshot is before the kind of aggressive outreach that we can expect to take place in the American Jewish electorate – Joe Lieberman and Eric Cantor will be barnstorming from shul kiddush to sisterhood coffee klatches touting McCain as the best candidate for the Jews – this effort – and whatever effort Obama mounts in kind – will no doubt impact the numbers as November nears.
