McCain’s Economic Plan – Good for the Jews?

Presumptive Republican Presidential nominee John McCain offered a detailed economic plan today, no doubt hoping to steal both thunder and media coverage from his two rivals.

At least as far as the Orthodox Jewish community is concerned – and we’d like to think – all family friendly groups (Jewish and otherwise) two of the Senator’s proposals are not quite thunderous, but very good news indeed.

McCain proposes doubling the per child “dependent” deduction – to $7,000. And he proposes eliminating the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT). Both of these proposals would help middle class families with children, the exact bracket that Orthodox Jews usually find themselves.
