The National Jewish Democratic Council has lots to boast about today for sure — with a record number of Jews in the Congress, and those being mostly Dems — so of course they hosted a reception for all the newly elected Jewish Representatives plus former Congressman and newly minted Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) (with kosher food – thanks NJDC). A moment of reflection about this country we all share was when newly installed Israeli ambassador to the U.S. Sallai Meridor commented how far Jews in the Diaspora have come when in the past such a critical mass of Jewish officeholders was unimagineable.
