In a speech to the American Federation of Teachers, Barack Obama firmly announced that he does not support vouchers for private schools.

Way back in February, in the heat of the primary campaign, Sen. Obama said that he would be willing to listen to proposal for a voucher program, because “you do what’s best for kids.”

This announcement is disappointing to us because we believe that giving parents the right to choose the school that best fits the needs of their children IS whats best for kids. It’s a shame to see Senator Obama disagree.
