Obama, His Church & Farrakhan

There have been emails and webpostings raising questions about the views of the pastor of Barack Obama’s church and, by innuendo, how those views might implicate or influence the views of Mr. Obama. The questions hit the mainstream this morning in the form of an op-ed essay by Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen.

As reported by Politico’s Ben Smith, Mr. Obama responded today with this statement: “I decry racism and anti-Semitism in every form and strongly condemn the anti-Semitic statements made by Minister Farrakhan. I assume that Trumpet Magazine made its own decision to honor Farrakhan based on his efforts to rehabilitate ex-offenders, but it is not a decision with which I agree.”
