Days after Secretary of State Rice stated that, from the U.S. perspective, Israeli construction activity in Jerusalem is an objectionable impediment to peace as construction in the West Bank generally, we were pleased to see Prime Minister Olmert – standing next to President Bush (with Secy. Rice in the front row) at Ben Gurion Airport – clearly state that “Jerusalem’s status [is] different” as far as Israel is concerned, and that such construction will continue.
