Public policy arm of the Orthodox Union, applauds Governor Andrew Cuomo for his commitment to the Education Investment Incentives Act (EIIA), also known as the Education Tax Credit, as one of his top priorities this legislative session and for his willingness to hold up the New York State budget unless and until it includes approval of the EIIA.

Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie also supported the Education Tax Credit, vowing to some 80 leader of the Orthodox Jewish community in Brooklyn on Sunday that the Education Investment Tax Credit is “on the table” in this year’s budget negotiations.

The newly elected speaker of the house never had Orthodox constituents, but he is making an effort to include all parts of the community, especially those who will be directly affected by the Education Tax Credit.
