Among the many groups rallying against the controversial Iran nuclear deal, as Congress returned to session, was a delegation of approximately 300 Rabbis and activists who gathered on Capitol Hill, under the auspices of the Orthodox Union (OU) and Rabbinic Council of America (RCA).

Despite the near certainty of the disapproval motion’s failure, participants, who traveled from over 20 states, stressed the need to make their voices heard. “Many wonder why hundreds of Rabbis would come to Washington from all over the country to speak up against a decision that appears to be final,” said Rabbi Shalom Baum, president of RCA.

“It isn’t only about the result — it’s that silence in the face of terror is not an option. That’s why we can’t be silent in the face of the terror regime of Iran. We can’t be silent in the face of a regime that is committed to wipe Israel off the face of the earth and to continue to demonize the United States.”
