OU Congratulates Tevi Troy On Nomination To Be Deputy Secretary Of Health & Human Services

ORTHODOX UNION CONGRATULATES TEVI TROY ON NOMINATION TO BE DEPUTY SECRETARY OF HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES

Today, the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America congratulated Tevi Troy, Ph.D. upon his nomination by President Bush to serve as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Dr. Troy is currently serving as Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy and served as the White House liaison to the Jewish community. In these capacities the UOJCA has worked closely with Dr. Troy on a range of policy matters.

UOJCA President Steve Savitsky and UOJCA Director of Public Policy Nathan Diament, issued the following statement commenting on the nomination:

On behalf of the Orthodox Jewish community, the UOJCA congratulates Tevi Troy on his nomination to continue his service to the nation as Deputy Secretary of Health & Human Services. We are grateful for the good work we have accomplished on a range of matters working with Dr. Troy and we take pride in the fact that Dr. Troy is a proud and active member of the Orthodox Jewish community and an OU member congregation (the Kemp Mill Synagogue). We wish to express our appreciation to President Bush for selecting an upstanding member of our community for this position of importance and responsibility.
