Rabbinate Without Borders

In a Haaretz article, today, the increasing presence of religious soldiers in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) was discussed. Their determination and effectiveness as soldiers was touted as among the best in the IDF. Furthermore, the author expressed his desire for the IDF “to learn to meet them [the religious soldiers] halfway on non-critical [religious] issues” so as to allow the religious soldiers to exist more easily and more appropriately in the IDF.

An interesting piece, and certainly worth a read.
