Romney’s Speech

Posted on December 6, 2007 In Blog

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney delivered a much anticipated speech on the role of religion in politics, religious freedom in America and how his Mormon faith plays a role in his life.

The speech’s contents – a vigorous statement of the American tradition of religious freedom and pluralism – and context – will it assuage the alleged concerns some Republican primary voters have over Mormonism and shift their support from the surging Huckabee to Romney? – will be dissected and discussed in the press and on the web at length.

As those who represent, to quote the speech, “the ancient traditions of the Jews, unchanged through the ages” – we commend Governor Romney for
his stated commitment to religious liberty and pluralism in the United States.
