In advance of the celebration of Israel’s 60th Yom Ha’atzma’ut and his convening a presidential conference to celebrate Israel’s odyssey and foment discussion
to shape Israel’s future, President Shimon Peres is reported to be readying a call for reconciliation between secular and religious Israelis.

While unfortunate that such an effort is needed, we applaud President Peres for undertaking his effort so important to the unity of our people.
